I am newly eligible for the state dental program. What am I being asked to do?
If you are now eligible to participate in the Texas Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) or Medicaid plan you are being asked to pick a dental plan for your children. If you don’t pick a dental plan, one will be picked for you.
Who is DentaQuest?
DentaQuest is one of the largest dental insurance companies in the United States and one of the participating dental plans in Texas Medicaid and CHIP.
What is DentaQuest’s Mission?

How does the process begin?
If you pick DentaQuest, you’ll be given the name and phone number of a dentist near your home. This dentist will be your main dentist responsible for the dental care of your children. This is the dentist your family will see for care and regular checkups.
What if I already have a dentist?
If your dentist is one of our participating Medicaid and CHIP dentists you can pick his or her office for your main dentist.
Can I change my Main Dentist?
Yes. If you want to go to a different dental office, just call DentaQuest. You can also find a list of participating Medicaid and CHIP dentists in your area on this website.
What dental services are covered by DentaQuest?
DentaQuest covers:
